Activities
Sponsored by Tahuichi
On Site at the Academy
The Tahuichi Academy is organized
during the Bolivian school year around daily sessions, offered
twice a day. Children who attend school in the morning come
for training after lunch; those who attend school in the afternoon
come for training in the morning. (Public schools in Bolivia
are divided into two shifts, with children attending just
one of them.) Tahuichi moves to longer daily programs during
school vacation periods. Approximately 3,500 children, ages
3 to 20, are enrolled in Tahuichi, with the vast majority
on full scholarship (paying nothing) and the remainder only
paying about $10 a month.
